What Are You Doing About Your High Blood Pressure?

By Christian Goodman

You are considered hypertensive when your blood pressure is above 120/80. Hypertension is called blood pressure in the world of medical. Genes play a major role in high blood pressure. Apart from that there are other factors that contribute to high blood pressure.

You should know what hypertension really is in order to understand high blood pressure or hypertension. What is actually measured when your blood pressure is taken is the amount of pressure your blood is applying on the walls of the blood vessels. When the number is high then it automatically mean more blood is forced against those walls.

What happens when a balloon is filled with water? When more water is stuffed into the balloon, it stretches the maximum out to fill in till certain point. When it gets to the maximum point the balloon starts thinning. And it will break when you put more water into it.

If you allow your blood pressure to get high and remain there unchecked, your vessels will suffer the same fate as the overfilled balloon. They can and will eventually burst. The location of the burst vessel determines the severity of the results. If it's a brain vessel, you can have a stroke. If it's a vessel that feeds blood to the heart, you can have a heart attack or suffer complete heart failure.

'Silent killer' is what high blood pressure is often referred as. One day you feel fine and you don't feel any symptomsthen the pressure becomes so great that it causes a life-threatening episode.

The top number of blood pressure is called systolic pressure, which measures the pressure within the blood vessels as it pumps the blood out. The bottom number is called diastolic pressure. It measures the blood pressure when your heart is at rest and in between beats.

Of the two numbers, the bottom number is often seen as more critical. If your diastolic pressure is over the ideal number of 80, this means that extreme pressure is being exerted on your vessels, even when your heart is at rest. With high blood pressure, the spurting force of the blood as it leaves the heart the next time could be the one that proves to be too much.

What are the best ways to reduce your blood pressure. If you are overweight then it's suggested to lose weight. If you are very stressed then you can avoid stress. Stop smoking. And if you are idle for most of the time then exercise a lot.

The other best option and a very easier option is you can try my hypertension program. It is quicker and as effective as medications. your chances of heart attack or stroke is reduced by my hypertension program which reduces your blood pressure levels too. Best thing about this no change of lifestyle and no need to sweat at gym

The result you get is life saving. But it is created with simple and easy exercise that you can do at ease

The Link Between Hypertension and Depression

By Christian Goodman

Recently he asked about depression treatment and Someone who purchased the High Blood Pressure Program and jokingly asked if he could be depressed from it.

Many researcher say there is link between two. Hypertension leading to depression as well as depression leading to high blood pressure.

First, we'll look at depression as the initial problem. Research shows that people who suffer long term depression are two to three times as likely to also develop hypertension.

A depressed person will tend to have poor eating habit and will be mostly smoking and drinking. And that can lead to high blood pressure. Moreover, those suffering from depression will not stay on regular treatment of high blood pressure.

Interestingly though, is that the study also involved people who did not engage in poor habits, yet they also suffered from hypertension.

There could be changes in the hormones in a person who suffers from depression for an extended period of time which could increase blood pressure.

Medicines that a person has for depression can also lead to long term increase in blood pressure.

Based on these factors, there is a link between depression and high blood pressure.

Depression resulting with high blood pressure:

Mostly the due to the medication that we take for high blood pressure people tend to get depressed as a common side effect.

Here again, we see that in the effort to solve one issue, another is created.

And although the person who asked about depression was half joking, there is not doubt anxiety that goes along with knowing the hypertensive condition exists.

Given that stress is a consistent theme in so many physical problems, there is little wonder that both high blood pressure and depression can result.

Things that helps to lower the high blood pressure:

Just after a drink blood pressure can increase for some. Therefore, it's better to avoid drinking.

Don't smoke. Cigarette smoking as we all know contributes to a number of problems including high blood pressure.

Eat properly. The body requires good nutrition to function well. This can also assist with weight control.

My programs really work well in controlling blood pressure. They are natural High Blood Pressure Program and Weight Loss Breeze Program.

High Blood Pressure and Depression, Is There Connection?

By Christian Goodman

A client in a joking manner asked if there is any relation between high blood pressure and depression in an e-mail.

Yes, both are linked. Hypertension wi9ll lead to depression and depression will lead to hypertension as well.

If a person is suffering from depression then he has three times more probable of developing hypertension than the person who don't suffer depression.

The worst thing about depression is people with depression tend to over eat, smoke and drink too much. And they are less likely to take treatment too.

But as strange as it may seem. Even people suffering depression that lived otherwise healthy live, also were more likely to suffer high blood pressure.

Therefore, researchers have concluded that change in hormones due to anxiety and depression can be a huge factor in causing high blood pressure.

Another factor are medications taken for depression which can have high blood pressure as side effects.

Results from research shows that there is link between depression and high blood pressure.

Let's see what makes hypertension to cause depression.

High blood pressure can cause depression because the medication taken for hypertension will cause depression as side effect.

Once again, we see that in order to solve a problem we create a new problem.

Although the person initially was kind of joking, it's no question he was right assuming there may be a connection between the two conditions.

And the major cause for all these problems is stress. There is no wonder hypertension and depression can therefore also be caused by stress.

Practices that can help high blood pressure regardless of the cause:

Excess drinking is a cause. some people see a spike in blood pressure after just a drink or two, and in those cases drinking is not recommended at all.

Smoking create many problems including increased blood pressure. So do not smoke.

Eat as healthy as possible. Raw vegetables and fruits should be the first on your list.

Onion for Natural Cures

By Zidni A Apriya

Onion is member of the botanical family liliaceae (lily, onion). There are many varieties of onion (allium), including leeks, shallots, chives, and garlic. They all share a similar structure, with hollow single stems growing out of bulbs and flowering into pom-pom flowers, and every part of the plant is edible.

The ancient Egyptians worshipped the onion, its concentric rings a symbol of eternal life. Onions are still prized for their different parts. Bulb onions have a round core expanding into layers, with a papery outer skin. They include the red or purple Bermudas, sweet Vidalia and Walla Wallas, common white and yellow, as well as round and elongated shallots (allium oschaninii).

Some alliums are valued for their stems. They do not have a rounded bulb, but instead grow a long cylinder of tightly packed leaves. These include the leek (allium ampeloprasum), the scallion or green onion, the Welsh onion (allium fistulosum), and the smallest of the species, the chive (allium schoenoprasum), which grows in clumps and includes the Japanese garlic chive Ku chai, (allium tuberosum). The greens and flowers can be harvested from all onions, regardless of their variety.

The pearl onion (allium cepa), or walking onion or tree onion, is a peculiar form. The plant grows a mass of bulbs at the top of the stem, where a normal onion flower would appear.

Onions are used in infinite ways, but certain preparation methods bring out different characteristics. Cut onions release more of their harsh oils than onions cooked whole. If onions are to be eaten raw, you can tame the harsh oils by thoroughly soaking and rinsing in cold water. Roasting whole or chopped and sauted over slow heat brings out an onion's natural sugars, which can be further cooked to caramelization.

In addition to fresh, onions are also commonly available in dried, flaked, powdered, or salted forms, all processed from dehydrated bulbs. Be aware that these dried forms have a more concentrated flavor. Onions are available wherever people like to eat.

Onion helps as natural anti bacteria, strengthening heart, lowering cholesterol, lowering blood pressure and prevents cancer. Sample of natural cures by onion is how onion used to treat bruises. Crush onion until soft and mix it with a spoonful of honey, then rub it to the bruises. - 31820

Natural Treatments For High Blood Pressure Are Available

By Kathy Forcey

Pulmonary hypertension is a fairly rare disease. Although not currently curable, pulmonary hypertension treatment exists that can relieve many of your symptoms and make you more comfortable.

PH affects the heart and lungs and is not a very common disorder. This disease occurs when blood vessels between the heart and lungs are constricted or blocked. The result is a spike in your pressure as your heart pumps harder to get blood through. The huge strain on the heart makes it become enlarged and cannot work efficiently or effectively. This usually brings on heart failure.

As with most acute or chronic illnesses, the first medical therapy is medication in the form of pills. You may need to take anticoagulants to prevent blood clots and let the blood flow more freely. Excess fluid in the body's tissue can cause swelling and make breathing more difficult. Diuretics are used to reduce that extra water. Vasodilators cause lowered blood pressure levels so your heart is not as overworked.

One course of action to treat pulmonary hypertension is surgery. All surgeries are dangerous, and you should seek a second opinion before deciding on surgery. Pulmonary thromboendarterectomy can be performed to remove a clot in the artery if that is the cause of your condition. If you have an advanced level and develop both heart and lung failure, your situation is grim. Thankfully, this procedure is rarely seen as most cases can be kept from progressing that far.

The only known cure for pulmonary hypertension is a surgically performed lung transplant. There is a shortage of donors and a long waiting list, however. This procedure is only for advanced cases that did not respond to other types of medical attention and is a last effort. Once the lung transplant is effective, the heart eventually returns to its normal size and the symptoms disappear. It is costly, dangerous, and lung donors must be a correct match for it to be successful.

There are several lifestyle changes you can make to keep your symptoms under control. Try to reduce stress by relaxing so your blood pressure won't spike. Don't smoke unless you want to make things a lot worse. Keep your salt intake fairly low and stay on a fresher diet without so many processed foods. Moderate exercise is helpful but should be undertaken only under the advice of a doctor.

Pulmonary hypertension is a serious disorder that can defeat you emotionally as well. Don't let this disorder keep you from living your life since pulmonary hypertension treatment can be very effective. Talk with your doctor and work out the course of treatment that fits your situation. The sooner you can begin treatment, the better your chances of improving your quality of life. - 31820

Chelation Therapy - Your Solution To High Blood Pressure

By Anju Mathur, MD

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a condition in which the force of the blood pumped by the heart is consistently elevated due to the resistance of the arteries against the blood flow. Blood pressure is measured as the pressure of the heart beat (systolic) over the pressure of the heart at rest (diastolic). Hypertension is defined as a blood pressure of--0/90 or higher. Normal, or healthy, blood pressure for average adults should be 120/80 or less.

If blood pressure continues to be high it can cause all kinds of havoc in other systems of the body, such as kidneys and other delicate tissues. It can also cause heart attack or stroke. The heart can be enlarged because it is working harder to pump blood. Yet 30% of people who have high blood pressure don't even know they have it, because there are no symptoms. .

Arterial plaque build up (also called hardening of the arteries, atherosclerosis, or arteriosclerosis) can increase blood pressure and make the heart's work more difficult. It refers to the accumulation of cholesterol, calcium and various minerals that stick to the lining of blood vessels and as the deposits grow, the blood vessels narrow. This process increases with age.

Physicians tend to prescribe medications to lower blood pressure. But these drugs, in addition to having undesirable side effects, do not handle the cause of the high blood pressure. If the medications do not lower the blood pressure sufficiently, more drugs are prescribed, with more side effects

Chelation therapy is a solution that produces little or no side effects. Chelation therapy involves the use of chemical compounds injected into the blood stream with an IV drip. This therapy was originally used to remove heavy metals from the body, and it still is. The chelator (chemical compound) used for heart health and high blood pressure is ethylene diamine tetra-acetate acid, or EDTA

One theory about why chelation works is that the agent (EDTA) binds calcium and other minerals to itself and allows them to pass out of the body, which improves the condition of the arteries. The second theory about why it works is that EDTA attaches itself to free radicals, which can cause a lot of tissue damage, and allows these free radicals to be eliminated.

Another benefit of chelation with EDTA is that it thins the blood making it easier for blood to flow, and also puts a damper on the formation of blood clots.

Increasing blood circulation by chelation therapy is definitely the safest way of controlling high blood pressure. It is a tested and effective cure. - 31820

Links Between Medication And Vertigo

By Christian Goodman

Primarily I thought it was an earthquake as everything around me was moving. Later I found it was only me who was experiencing this movement. Lastly I remember I was lying in my stomach on the ground to make everything still around me.

The narrated description was given by a vertigo sufferer. She had been experiencing these symptoms for a past few months.

This problem was diagnosed as vertigo. Those suffering from it feel that other person or objects around them are in a moving state. It is more or less like dizziness.

Doctors term it as a symptom rather than a disease. Problems in the structure of ears lead to this problem.

There are more than one types of vertigo. The commonest one is the benign paroxysmal positional vertigo which can be identified by its symptom of vomiting, impaired cognitive abilities, nausea, perspiration, hearing loss. All these may just start suddenly.

The other type of peripheral disorder is Mires syndrome. In this rare disorder a person can become total deaf or nearly deaf. The symptoms are same to the other common peripheral disorder; the only difference is that the patient may have a "full" feeling in his or her ear at the onset of the problem.

For vertigo suffering person the best option is to sleep or lie down when the attacks start. But that can be a problem as the symptoms can increase or decrease with a course of hours or day.

My client had undergone some medication for these symptoms, but unfortunately the vertigo remained. On the other hand, it resulted in some rather unfavourable side effects.

While undergoing a blood pressure check up for her hypertension, the nurse discussed that the medication she was using for her high blood pressure often showed vertigo as a side effect. It was after that she noticed the side effect actually started while she was undergoing this medication.

She was very much confused as this side effect was never mentioned to her when she started this medicine. Neither was it ever discussed while her frequent visit for vertigo treatment.

Temporary and chronic vertigo can result from number of drugs obtained as prescribed drugs or those that are sold over the counter. These drugs include common ones like those used to treat for flu and colds, some antibiotics and anticonvulsants.

One may get tempted to sue the doctor in such a case, but remember that medication for hypertension is the most common treatment that doctors advise to the patients.

This patient joined my program as she was in need of both high blood pressure and vertigo treatments. Under my program she got a great relief from both the problems. She even discontinued her medication and is now symptom free. My program is here for you to get out of your vertigo and dizziness problems. EIN: EL331005 - 31820

Natural Treatments For High Blood Pressure Are Available

By Bart Forcey

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, affects one out of every three adults in the United States. Approximately one-third of these individuals will experience no symptoms until it is too late. Some symptoms such as headaches and feeling light-headed are common and often ignored. If you know that you are at risk of developing high blood pressure, it may interest you to know that natural treatment for high blood pressure can be easily incorporated into your life now to prevent problems down the road.

Recent studies have shown that Coenzyme Q10 has the ability to reduce both systolic and diastolic pressure. CoQ10 is produced naturally in the body. It is a key factor in the production of energy in the mitochondria. A fat-soluble substance, CoQ10 should only be used in conjunction with other approved treatments and under the supervision of a physician.

Garlic naturally thins the blood. It improves circulation and lessens the symptoms of high blood pressure. Due to its blood thinning properties, garlic should be used carefully. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before increasing garlic intake to prevent any medication interaction. Hawthorn is an herb supplement. It improves circulation by dilating the arteries. Studies have shown that hawthorn mildly reduces both the diastolic and systolic pressures.

Fish oil has a minor effect on hypertension. Although the FDA has not approved this supplement, the key ingredient, DHA (docohexaenoic acid), has been proven effective in the reduction of overall blood pressure. Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, is a water soluble substance. It can not be stored within the body, therefore, a constant supply is necessary to maintain proper levels within the human system. It has been shown to reduce the homocysteine levels in some people with high blood pressure.

Calcium, magnesium and potassium are three other popular minerals that offer natural treatment for high blood pressure. Calcium appears to have a mild affect, but more research is needed. Magnesium, during 12 trials, has been found to reduce diastolic pressure, but has no effect on systolic pressure. Potassium supplementation has undergone five trials. These trials have shown a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure.

Diet is a major factor in the reduction and prevention of high blood pressure. The National Institutes of Health have developed two diets that, if followed, will naturally prevent and reduce hypertension. These diets called DASH and DASH sodium are dietary approaches to stopping hypertension. Sodium intake is reduced by 1500 mg a day with DASH sodium.

Many other natural remedies exist for the treatment of hypertension. Most of these treatments are lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise. Other treatments include autogenic training. This type of training explains how to control the inner functions through breathing techniques. This remedy is often used in conjunction with biofeedback. Finally, non-traditional medicines from India and China can work as natural treatments for high blood pressure. - 31820

Cure Panic Attacks With This 1 Simple Technique

By Marie Cooper

Many people today are victims of panic and anxiety attacks, but they suffer from it without telling anybody. Throughout their life, they try all ways and means to avoid situations that might potentially trigger their panic attack. These situations can range from mundane activities like meetings, public speaking, socializing, driving, going out to crowded places, etc.

What actually causes panic attacks? It is actually caused when adrenaline is being released into your system, and is triggered by the 'fear signals' that is being transmitted to your adrenaline glands, making your brain believe there is a dangerous situation ahead.

When it happens, your heart will pump out blood at a quicker rate. While this same increase in blood flow is what makes athletes run jump or swim faster, to some people it can be an extremely paralyzing feeling. This becomes panic attacks to some people, and as long as their brain continues pumping adrenaline, they cannot function normally.

So what are the ways to cure a panic attack, you may be asking? There are 4 easy steps that you can take to stop your panic attack before it renders you unable to function.

1) Breathe deeply and try to relax You first need to take deep slow breaths. Do so to calm yourself down and keep breathing slowly and steadily. This will cause your body to relax, which is the first step to stopping the production of adrenaline in your body.

2) Quit thinking negative things Whenever you focus on negative things, your mind will try to justify the situation as such. You should stop thinking of negative thoughts by doing something that will interrupt your pattern. Shout 'STOP' in your mind, or even do it loud if your situation allows it. This stops yourself from going into a self-made panic attack.

3) Use empowering statements Remember, the next time you find yourself getting a panic attack, instead of thinking negatively, try to think positive thoughts. Tell yourself it's just another panic attack, and will be gone very soon, and you will feel empowered.

Following these 3 simple steps will teach you how to cure your panic attacks naturally and quickly. Just remember this the next time you feel a panic attack is impending, and you will see its effectiveness. - 31820

Lower Your High Blood Pressure Or Die

By Kathy Forcey

There are many ways of lowering high blood pressure if you should suffer from hypertension. High blood pressure means that the pressure in your arteries is higher then normal, normal blood pressure is 120/80 or lower and high blood pressure is anything above--0/90.

The top number in your blood pressure is associated with the pressure of the blood inside of your arteries when your heart is beating or contracting and is called systolic pressure. The pressure of the blood in your arteries during the period your heart rests in between beats is called the diastolic pressure.

It is important to lower your blood pressure because it can cause an increase in the chances of developing or having a stroke, eye damage, brain damage, heart disease, kidney disease and/or a hardening of arteries. You need to keep track of your blood pressure because many people do not experience symptoms and organ failure is a very real possibility which occurs as a result of prolonged and untreated high blood pressure.

Once diagnosed, there are several options available to for lowering high blood pressure. As a first step you can make some lifestyle changes which include eating a healthy diet. The types of food you eat will affect your blood pressure and switching your diet to high in fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts and low in fatty foods, red meat and dairy products is recommended. Consuming too much salt can lead to high blood pressure so cutting out sodium can also help.

Being overweight will also increase your blood pressure so maintaining a healthy weight or losing weight can help your blood pressure. Drinking too much alcohol and smoking have also been known to increase your blood pressure thus stopping smoking and reducing your alcohol consumption can decrease your high blood pressure.

You can use medically-prescribed drugs for lowering high blood pressure as most medications are very effective. Beta-blockers lower blood pressure by causing your heart to relax and beat slower. Diuretics work on the kidneys instead of the heart and flush out excess water and salt that may be causing your high blood pressure. Sometimes high blood pressure can be caused by hormones and if this is the cause then a hormone inhibitor called angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor can be used.

Having too much calcium in the heart can cause the heart to become tense. A calcium channel blocker can be used to relax blood vessels and the heart. Alpha blockers will affect your nervous system so that it allows for better blood flow by stopping some nerve messages. Alpha-beta-blockers are a combination of alpha blockers and beta blockers so this medication slows downs the heart and causes blood flow to be smoother. - 31820

Atkins Diet Basics

By Michael James

The common name for the 'Atkins Nutritional Approach' is the 'Atkins Diet', which was the invention of Doctor Robert Atkins. Dr. Atkins had gained a lot of surplus weight while he was studying in medical school and after coming across a new diet in the medical journal, he decided to refine it and publish it as his own.

Atkins, in his Atkins Diet, stated that he believed that the prevalent theories about weight gain were all wrong. First, he dismissed the idea that saturated fats were bad; instead he said it was it was carbohydrates that led to the weight problems Americans have. Atkins held that our obsession with fat actually worsened the problem. He pointed to all the low-fat foods that were high in carbohydrates, which meant that people on a diet often ate foods that were worse for them than what they normally ate.

The Atkins diet shifted the focus. Atkins said that by avoiding carbohydrates, people would consume stored body fats. And, of course, if you lose the fat, you lose the weight. He said it was not just a matter of eating less. Atkins postulated that your diet could actually help you burn calories and The Atkins Diet supposedly burned more calories than were consumed everyday. But the claims were disputed.

Dr. Atkins also touted the positive influence that his diet could have on suffers of type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a disease you get early in life, but type 2 is often closely associated with diet and excess body weight. So, it should follow that any diet that helps reduce weight, will help people with Type 2 diabetes. The Atkins diet is low in carbohydrates, which must be avoided with type 2 diabetes regardless of the caloric intake, so because of this aspect of the diet, Atkins claimed that those who suffer type 2 diabetes would no longer need medication such as insulin. In general, doctors disagree with Atkins on this point, although they do agree, however, that a lower carbohydrate intake helps control Type 2 diabetes, but there is no proof that carbohydrates cause diabetes.

What are the steps one has to take to follow the Atkins diet? It is followed in four phases - Induction; On-Going Weight loss, Pre-maintenance and Lifetime Maintenance. Here is an overview of the most important phase - The Induction Phase.

The Induction phase is probably the most difficult of the phases in the Atkins diet. Atkins is rather flexible about how long it should last " but recommends two weeks. During this time, carbohydrate consumption should be severely limited " up to 20 grammes per day. The goal is to enter a fat burning metabolic process called 'ketosis' which is when the body, being starved of glucose, starts to convert previously stored fat into the fatty acids needed to power the body. Weight loss during this period is often extreme " some Atkins dieters report losses of 5-10 lbs. a week or more.

The goals of the three final phases in the Atkins diet are the learning of the ideal carbohydrate levels for the next two phases: continued weight loss and weight maintenance. Millions of people are still losing the weight they want to on this diet " but beware the dangers of taking in too much cholesterol. - 31820

High Blood Pressure Doesn't Have To Be A Life Sentence

By Kathy Forcey

What are your current prescription medications doing for your body? If you are suffering through a lot of side effects, it may be time to join thousands of other people who are using herbs for high blood pressure treatment. Not only can this be a more efficient way of treating the problem without side effects, but it could save you some money as well.

What most people like about these supplements is that they are usually completely natural without the chemicals and other processing that you get with other medications. Studies are still being carried out on which ones are the most effective and what the optimal dosages may be, but thousand of people are already effectively using these herbal remedies with great success.

Put some effort into selecting the source of your herbal remedies because some do include chemicals intended to keep it fresh longer. There can be some side effects with those products, so you want to find something that is completely natural if at all possible. Some of the most commonly used herbal products for this condition are fennel, hawthorne, dandelion, juniper, yarrow, and parsley. There are a variety of others that can be quite effective as well.

Never combine herbs such as these with a prescription medication unless you have cleared it with your doctor. You may also want to find out more about the safe dosages of your chosen supplements before you start taking them. Herbs are the basis of medication as well so if you are taking something you need to clear the combination with a doctor. Of course, you want to check into the combination of different herbs with one another as well to eliminate chances of interaction.

Whether you are taking herbal supplements, prescription medications, or a combination of both, you can improve your results by making key lifestyle changes. For starters, find a way to add more activity into your daily life. Even if you just take a moderately paced walk around the block in the evening you could still reap the benefits.

Watching your salt intake is very important as it could undo the effects of your herbal supplements. Even a can of soup that looks completely healthy can contain enormous amounts of sodium. Try to focus on whole grains, fruits and vegetables for the bulk of your food.

When using herbs for high blood pressure you have to make sure you discuss it with your doctor and pick the best quality possible and take it in the right dosage. Chances are they could not only get the condition under control, but do it while presenting no side effects at all. - 31820

Reishi Alcohol Extract vs. Hot Water Extract

By Dr. Markho Rafael

For two millennia, medicinal mushrooms have been mainstream in Asia. Now, America is taking notice and interest is rapidly "mushrooming." With the sprouting of this new industry follows issues of ethical quality claims between competing brands.

All species of medicinal mushrooms appear haunted by this issue. Particularly so, it seems, is red reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), the oldest medicinal mushroom in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Please note, however, that the information in this article applies generally to all medicinal mushroom species.

An obvious caution is to stay away from cheap, mass-produced reishi. It may be merely dried and pulverized. In order to be medicinal, the mushroom cell-wall has to be broken down. Mass-produced reishi may be mostly inert and ineffective.

Then there are the real therapeutic grade red reishi brands, which are produced with much more care. But even here there are big differences between brands. Each claims to be the best, of course, because they want to sell their product. So lets set the facts straight and be independently informed consumers.

There are primarily three ways to extract the medicinal compounds from red reishi. Each method pulls out different compounds, all of which have been proven by scientific research to be therapeutically important.

1. Water (Hot) Extraction (polysaccharides, etc.)

2. Alcohol/Ethanol Extraction (triterpenoids, etc.)

3. Fermenting (arabinoxylanes, etc.)

The most important hot water extracted compounds are the polysaccharides. Studies have shown them to possess strong anti-tumor properties, help boost immune system and be powerful antioxidants. [1]

Triterpenoids include a large number of related medicinal compounds whose proven effects include stabilization of blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood clotting. But most importantly, the triterpenoids are the anti-inflammatory compounds of reishi. [1] Inflammation is a serious component in asthma, allergies, arthritis and many more conditions.

Finally, by fermenting the red reishi, the original medicinal compounds break down to form new compounds with unique healing properties. These "secondary metabolites" have among other things been shown to be immune enhancing and help regulate blood sugar, as well as having unique anti-tumor properties. [2]

This article is not meant to recommend any particular brand so none will be mentioned by name. But the author does know of two reishi companies (Japanese and American) that both claim only hot water extract of reishi is effective and that alcohol extracts are of no use.

They do that, of course, because they wish to sell their products. However, there is no scientific validity to those claims. All three extraction methods listed above yield important medicinal compounds.

To determine if a brand of reishi (or Ganoderma) contains all the important medicinal compounds from the mushroom, find out if it utilizes both alcohol and hot water extraction. An additional plus would be if it also includes fermented reishi.

Last but not least, remember to look at the form the reishi comes in. If the reishi is able to dissolve completely in water-based drinks like coffee, it's a safe bet that it only contains the water-soluble polysaccharides. An excellent choice as far as coffee goes but an incomplete reishi supplement because it does not include the anti-inflammatory triterpenoid compounds.

Alcohol tinctures, on the other hand, are well worth considering because they may be a blend of water and alcohol extracts. The way to tell is if the tincture is cloudy. When water-soluble polysaccharides get mixed with alcohol, they fall out of solution. Cloudiness in an alcohol tincture indicates high polysaccharide content. Just shake before taking. Tablets and capsules can contain hot water extract, alcohol extract or both. You need to find out from the manufacturer.

High Blood Pressure: A Major Risk Factor for Stroke

By Christian Goodman

October 29 is World Stroke Day. Promoted by the World Stroke Organization, the topic of World Stroke Day this year is "What can I do?"

The World Stroke Organization states, you can learn to identify risk elements and symptoms of stroke - and do something about them.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a major risk factor for stroke as well as heart disease. Poor nutrition, lack of exercise, obesity, and smoking all elevate the risk of stroke and hypertension.

A stroke is rather like a heart attack, but is located in the brain. Stroke occurs when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel and interrupts blood flow to the brain. A lack of blood flow causes brain damage; brain cells begin to die. Stroke may create weakness in limbs, paralyzed limbs, or loss of ability to speak.

Stroke is the third leading cause of death in America and the leading cause of adult disability. Up to 80 percent of strokes are preventable with healthy lifestyle choices.

"Stroke is not an inevitable consequence of ageing," points out Professor Lars Ryden of the Karolinska Institute in Stockhom. "So by identifying and modifying risk factors, there are openings to reduce the incidence and death rate of this catastrophic condition."

Around the world, stroke is the second leading cause of death (second only to heart disease), accounting for nearly 6 million deaths per year. The number of stroke victims continues to climb worldwide.

High blood pressure is the most important risk factor for stroke. The Framingham Heart Study found that hypertension doubles the risk of stroke. Smoking also doubles the risk of stroke.

To lower the risk of stroke, you can stop smoking (if you smoke), lose weight, lower blood pressure, eat healthier foods, and exercise regularly. Excessive alcohol consumption and excessive salt intake also raise the risk for high blood pressure as well as stroke. Regular exercise is the key to losing weight, lowering blood pressure, and lowering your risk of stroke.

Walking is an exceptional exercise, and you have no excuses to avoid walking. If the weather is bad outside, you can walk indoors in a mall, for instance. One Japanese study discovered that regular vigorous walking reduced the risk of stroke by upwards of 20 percent. In a similar Finnish study, researchers found that leisure-time physical activity is a preventative of stroke. Lying on the couch and watching television might seem like the most relaxing activity, but when that's your only leisure-time activity, then it's actually creating more stress and anxiety within your body. You must maintain physical activity levels to release that stress and keep your body healthy.

Summarizing, to lower your risk of stroke, follow these simple suggestions: Stop smoking. Walk or exercise daily. Eat five servings of fruit and vegetables each day. Keep your blood pressure and cholesterol levels within healthy ranges.

Tips for Preventing High Blood Pressure

By Sean Davids

Preventing high blood pressure is very important as elevated blood pressure can lead to many more serious diseases. High blood pressure has been associated with your heredity, diet and lifestyle. The best way to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level is to live a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly. It's also important to keep the heart in shape.

There is a certain eating plan that you can follow to reduce your heart pressure that's known as the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension, or DASH. It is possible to lessen hypertension by eating specific foods such as vegetables, fruits, low fat dairy foods and foods that are low in fat and cholesterol. You also want to eat nuts, poultry, whole grains and fish.

Another diet specifically created for preventing high blood pressure is the DASH-sodium diet. This diet limits the amount of sodium you eat on a daily basis as sodium is directly associated with high blood pressure. This diet allows merely 1,500 mg of salt on a daily basis, which can reduce your blood pressure dramatically.

Being overweight is also associated with high blood pressure. You can significantly lower your blood pressure by losing as little as ten pounds. Obesity and high blood pressure can lead to cardiovascular disease and diabetes. You can make a big difference to your general health by losing 10 pounds.

Other than losing weight, you also want to get regular physical activity, as the more you work out the lower your resting heart rate will be when you are not working out. You do not have to go all out; just begin moderately. Simply walking 30 minutes a day is enough to help decrease your blood pressure though it's recommended that you do different things to keep it interesting. Physical activity also helps you when looking to lose weight.

Alcohol consumption is also associated with blood pressure. You want to have only one drink a day to keep your high blood pressure in check. One drink is equivalent to 5 ounces of wine, 1.5 ounces of liquor and 12 ounces of beer. Men can have up to 2 drinks in a day and women up to 1 drink a day. If you're also trying to lose weight to lower your blood pressure, then excessive alcohol consumption can make this challenging.

Smoking also causes high blood pressure and if you're a smoker then you need to quit in order to prevent high blood pressure. You can bring your blood pressure back to normal in a year simply by quitting smoking. - 31820

Blood Pressure Can Naturally be Lowered by Owning a Pet

By Christian Goodman

Owning a pet can lower blood pressure naturally - and there are no side effects! Furry, four-legged friends improve physiological health and encourage exercise. The act of petting an animal can have immediate and profound effects on blood pressure.

"Research in this field is providing new evidence on the positive impact pets have in our lives, said Rebecca Johnson at the Society for Anthrozoology and Human-Animal Interaction Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, last week. "This conference will provide a unique opportunity to connect international experts working in human animal-interaction research with those already working in the health and veterinary medicine fields. A wonderful array of presentations will show how beneficial animals can be in the lives of children, families and older adults."

Owning a pet does more than basically encouraging exercise. Owning a pet inspires an affectionate connection, and that is truly heart healthy. A pet can act as a guardian angel for the heart, especially for those people who may not have much interaction with others.

"Pets are of great significance to people, especially during difficult economic times," said Johnson. "Pets provide unquestioned love and acceptance and may be part of the answers to societal problems such as inactivity and obesity."

Investigation suggests that pets may also energize the function of the immune system, reduce the risk of anxiety and depression, and elevate mood. Dogs are natural anti-depressants! (Yes, and cats, too.)

Research from the State University of New York at Buffalo found that pet ownership controls stress-related high blood pressure more effectively that medications for hypertension! The researchers examined 48 stockbrokers who were being treated with medication for high blood pressure. All of the study participants lived alone and had highly stressful jobs. Some participants were given pets while others were not. Researcher Karen Allen said, "When we told the group that didn't have pets about the results, many went out and got them. This study shows that if you have high blood pressure, a pet is very good for you when you're under stress, and pet ownership is especially good for you if you have a limited support system. There are many theories, but we honestly don't know why pets lower blood pressure. We suspect having someone on your side - someone you can always count on that is non-judgmental - psychologically creates a beneficial atmosphere."

In 2008, the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine Research Center for Human-Animal Interaction (ReCHAI), directed by Johnson, sponsored a program called "Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound and Stay Fit for Seniors." The program paired older adults with dogs from local shelters. A second group of seniors was paired with human walking partners. For 12 weeks, participants in the study were encouraged to walk on an outdoor trailer for one hour five times a week. Researchers measured improvements in activity levels of the participants at the end of the study.

"The older people who exercised their dogs increased their walking capabilities by 28 percent," Johnson stated. "They had more trust walking on the trail, and they increased their speed. The older people who walked with humans only had a 4 percent increase in their walking capabilities. The human walking buddies tended to discourage each other and used excuses such as the weather being too hot."

Pets, on the other hand, rarely complain about the weather being too hot. In general, pets are always up for a nice walk in the park.

Regular physical activity - something as simple as a daily walk in the park - will do wonders for hypertension. If you don't own a pet, try these easy exercises for high blood pressure.

Controlling hypertension in 12 steps

By Chrisitan Goodman

Even medical people who have researched blood pressure for decades admit that the cause is unknown for about 95% of high blood pressure problems and you could have it without even knowing, even if you're otherwise healthy. For this reason it's important that you know what your blood pressure is and have it checked on a regular basis.

Smoking and coffee raises your blood pressure temporarily, so if you are having your blood pressure taken, avoid drinking coffee or smoking at least 30 minutes before the reading. If you are a smoker, you should know this puts you at greater risk for developing high blood pressure than a non-smoker.

Other causes that increase your chances of getting high blood pressure include high cholesterol, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, other medical conditions, if you're over 60 years old or of menopausal age. Fluctuations are normal when checking your blood pressure, and a one time reading of high blood pressure does not necessarily mean that you have it. When you constantly check your blood pressure and it gives a high reading every time, that is when you need to be alarmed. Sometimes other medications you are taking may influence your blood pressure.

The help you reduce the risk and even prevent high blood pressure, you need to change your diet and your lifestyle. Some of these changes are listed below. The more you can incorporate these changes into your life, the more you reduce your risk of developing hypertension.

Limit alcohol to two drinks per day or even less

Maintain a healthy weight and lose weight if needed

Cut your fat intake to less than 30%

Limit added salt and be mindful of sodium content in prepared foods

Exercise regularly at a moderate level of intensity several times a week

Stop smoking

Be sure you get at least 1000 mg (milligrams) of calcium every day. Good sources are dairy products, broccoli, canned salmon, figs, tofu and kale

You also need 2500-3000 mg of potassium daily. Get that from fresh veggies and fruit, nuts and dairy products. Look for low fat brands of dairy products.

Get 350-400 mg of magnesium daily. You'll find it in dark green veggies, whole grains, seafood, legumes, nuts, and soybeans.

Get a good night's sleep. Inadequate sleep can actually raise your blood pressure even higher if you already have hypertension.

Relax more. Reduce the stress in your life, particularly if you have risk factors for high blood pressure. Consider taking up yoga or meditation to learn how to relax.

If you drink a lot of coffee (more than 2-4 cups) every day, consider cutting back or eliminating it altogether. It can help lower your blood pressure, but only slightly.

Another thing that you can do to lower your blood pressure is by using the Natural High Blood Pressure Program I developed. The program helps lower your readings in a natural way.

All it takes are a few simple exercises that you do daily, and requires only a few minutes of your time. Hundreds of people have already successfully lowered their blood pressure in a safe and natural way by using the program. - 31820

How Does Isolated Systolic High Blood Pressure Affect Health?

By Christian Goodman

Blood pressure concerns are completely understandable. I suffered from high blood pressure myself and now spend my time researching this problem as well as many other health conditions.

140 over 90 is usually considered high blood pressure. A person measuring from 120 over 80 to 139 over 89 is generally considered to fall into a pre hypertensive category. The top number is called the systolic pressure.

Why do these numbers matter? With age, tends to come high blood pressure. It is estimated that at least two thirds of people age 65 and over live with high blood pressure. Some believe the age range may actually start at closer to 50.

If high blood pressure is not addressed, it continues to strain the heart leading to a number of problems such as atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries. Heart attack or stroke can then follow.

Other organs can be affected as well such as the kidneys.

Isolated systolic high blood pressure typically describes a situation in which the systolic reading is measuring high where the diastolic may not be. The systolic reading measures the force of blood thorugh the arteries while the heart beats.

Since the diastolic pressure actually decreases as we age, the systolic pressure has particular importance. Note however, that both measurements are important to properly diagnose the presence of high blood pressure.

To confirm whether or not you fall into the high blood pressure arena, you should have it checked (and probably re-checked by your doctor.)

Feeling badly is not always an indicator of high blood pressure. The name "silent killer" is attributed to hypertension as many people do not even know they have been suffering from the disease until a heart attack or stroke occurs.

One concern for many people when it comes to checking their blood pressure with a doctor is the likelihood of prescribed medications or rather the side effects that accompany those medications. This concern should also be shared with your doctor.

Of course, sharing this concern may not change the course of action recommended by Western medical professionals.

However, some doctors are worried that the patient may not make certain life changes (such as avoiding alcohol, discontinue smoking, follow exercise and breathing programs.) Therefore, drugs tend to be the only solution.

I highly recommend my all natural High Blood Pressure Program no matter what type of blood pressure problem you may have. The results have been nothing short of amazing - in fact I cured my own high blood pressure with these easy exercises.

Do Hypertension Medications Really Help?

By Chrisitan Goodman

I've mentioned this before, but it occurred again recently. While barely paying attention to the television, I caught a couple of key words. Stroke. Heart Attack. What now? I did a quick rewind and learned that this was another commercial for hypertension drugs.

Hundreds of people have shared this very situation with me as they are either candidates for high blood pressure medicine or currently take it. They turn to my High Blood Pressure Program to avoid this.

They even go so far as to share the exact names of the drugs they have been prescribed. I am pretty familiar with most of these, but the research still seems to open my eyes over and over.

Remember, that high blood pressure is elevated blood pressure usually above 140 over 90 or so.

This is a problem as it can create weakened arteries, heart disease and stroke as well as create problems for other organs.

Additional problems can include blindness, sleeplessness and erectile dysfunction. One problem with high blood pressure though is that the symptoms may not be present or noticable.

Some people are painfully aware of symptoms though including blurry eye sight, headaches, sweating and clamminess and nausea. Measuring your blood pressure is only true way to validate high blood pressure.

One elevated reading does not necessarily indicate chronic high blood pressure. Regular checks are necessary.

It is important to be informed of the potential side effects of medication before you start taking it. Four types of medication I am sharing today are ACE Inhibitors, Beta Blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers and Diuretics.

The ACE Innhibitors (angiotensin-converting enzyme) relax blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II production. This is a hormone responsible for narrowed blood vessels. Some commonly prescribed are: benazepril, captopril, enalapril, lisinopril, quinapril and ramipril.

Accompanying the drugs are possible side effects such as chronic coughing, headaches, chest pain and even kidney disease.

Now let's look at Beta Blockers. These drugs reduce nerve signals to the heart and blood vessels which causes the heart to beat slower reducing blood pressure. Commonly prescribed beta blockers include: acebutolol (Sectral), atenolol (Tenormin), carvedilol (Coreg), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard), penbutolol (Levatol), propranolol (Inderal) and timolol (Blocadren).

Side effects include: fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, impotence, depression, memory loss and even hallucenations.

Now let's look at calcium channel blockers. Calcium is prevented from entering the heart and blood vessel muscle cells. This prevents the blood vessels from constricting and lowering blood pressure. Some of these drugs are amlodipine, fedodipine, nifedipine and verapamil.

Nausea, heartburn, shortness of breath, dizziness, and sexual dysfunction can occur. More serious is stroke and heart attack " one of the very things the drug is designed to prevent.

Diuretics or water pills flush the body of fluid and sodium making it so that the blood vessels do not hold as much fluid, and in turn lowering blood pressure. Common diuretics include: chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (Esidrix) and indapamide (Lozol).

Male breast enlargement, impotence, menstrual cycle irregularities and fever and blurry vision can become present along with these drugs.

It's no surprise that people either want to avoid high blood pressure medication or get off the drugs altogether. I do however urge you to exercise caution by reducing your medication slowly and with your doctor's knowledge.

Don't worry that your doctor will be harder to convince. Doing it gradually and continuing to monitor your blood pressure with your doctor will make the transition easier to swallow.

Introduct the program but continue to take your medication. Continue to monitor your blood pressure. As it begins to lower, see your doctor and discuss lowering your medicine. Eventually you can do this until the drugs are no longer needed. - 31820

Is It Possible To Heal Hypertension?

By Chrisitan Goodman

Over and over again I receive emails from people who have tried everything to lower their - up to 210/140 high - blood pressure. They've been on medications for years and take every supplements known to man.

I also came to know that their parents, grandparents and also their aunts and uncles had suffered from soaring blood pressure. So, it is present in their genes, right?

Time and again, their question is very much the same....

"How could this program possible help me in such an impossible situation?".

As this is a frequent question, I have decided to explain it here on this blog.

The reasons for hypertension may be bad modern day diets or genetic factors. But emotions and thinking pattern plays a bigger part.

Everyday for 24 hours we are reacting to stimulation around us. We don't sleep for at least 16 hours and we are constantly under some kind of internal or external pressure. Our body is not fit enough to deal with these types of stimulation as this technological world is very new in existence.

We do not realize how irresistible this constant stimulation is as we are very much used to it.

Here is an example from the simple world where I have grown.

When I was a young boy, my father and mother lived in the city but had a farm in the country side. My grandmother took care of the farm.

The entire summers I loved to spend on the farm. And above everything else I loved the horses.

In the farm we could ride for a long period without requiring to cross a road. There are only a few tractors present and we did had a few cars but were far between.

When we had youngsters, we began training them in the summer when they were four years old. We took it slowly and most often they were very calm and easy to handle. It wasn't till second or third year in training that we brought them to the stable in the city in the winter time.

Now here comes the important part...

These young horses were very frightened when they faced the city they saw fast cars all over, screaming people and big houses. The stimulation was overwhelming for them even in the quiet stable area. When we took them for riding they would either froze or run off or just shook all over.

How did we help them in overcoming this ?

First of all, we always took them out with an older horse who was relaxed and wasn't affected by all the static. This gave the youngster confident that everything was all right.

But even more important...

After feeding them with hays, and when everything was quiet we spent hours brushing and combing them in the evenings. We saw that we were making progress when the youngster enjoyed his treatment that he would close his eyes and even stopped eating even if the hay was in front of him.

Soon, the traffic and static didn't seem to bother the youngster as much. He had his focused brake in the evening and that gave his nerve system enough soothing so he could deal with the difficult tasks during the day. The tension in their back disappeared and you could feel them relax.

Nowadays it is much different. The horses are more used to the fast world. Even if they come straight from the countryside. But they still benefit a lot from getting their long quiet brushing in the evening. And I think I benefit just as much from them.

Just like the youngsters in training, we don't just have to deal with the fast world around us. We need to deal with difficult people and difficult tasks every day. This puts our nerve system in the high gear and keeps it tense from morning to night time.

Yet if the environment around us is quiet and there are no external stimulation for a brief period, our brain would not be relaxed. It continues to spin with all the worries and tension we are facing or even resentment about something like "somebody did to us" during the day.The system is not relaxed and is in high gear. So, our blood pressure becomes worse than ever.

Unless we sleep the brain keeps on spinning.

Some of us may be more genetically open for hypertension, our diet may also temporarily flair up our blood pressure. But nothing is on us like our own emotions and mind. Nothing actively bugs us from morning to night like our own head.

Meditation has been shown to be somewhat effective for hypertension. But I don't know many people who have the discipline to sit and quiet their mind for 30-60 minutes a day. The mind often begins spinning with more force than ever.

There is totally no efforts required for my focused break exercises. All you need to do is to follow the direction on the audio. The second exercise is little bit like the feeling in the stable when we groom the horses when everything is quiet. The first exercise is more like a technique which I learned from one of the famous horse whisperer, who is still alive.

The bottom line is, everyone can follow these exercises immediately and begin benefiting very quickly. There is nothing to learn and no skills to practice. It works if you work it no matter how bad your situation may look.

And the most excellent element is , it gives you a moment off from the world. A moment where there is now pressures and worries. That's what I love about it. So have a good time. - 31820

Climate and High Blood Pressure- is there a link

By Christian Goodman

A client recently wrote to me questioning if there was a link to hot climates and an increase in blood pressure. My initial thought was, "no," as an increase in blood pressure among different countries is usually always related to diet and exercise level.

A couple of recent studies, however, decided that blood pressure in aged patients already suffering from high blood pressure (hypertension) was actually dramatically lowered when exposed to hotter climates than normal but only during daytime hours.

During the evenings, however, the systolic number (top number) actually very much increased. I presume that this is because the subjects were in air conditioned environments at night. This was not the case so temperature did not seem to play a role.

Patients who did not suffer from high blood pressure were not affected either way by the daytime increase in temperature.

An additional study showed a very small increase in blood pressure when exposed to colder temperatures however, the subjects were able to acclimate relatively easily and blood pressure returned to original levels.

Additionally, rates of heart attacks and strokes do not decrease during summer months. This could be for a couple of reasons. First, studiers have found that people tend to decrease their blood pressure medication during the summer months.

Second, overwhelming evidence indicates that over time, people adapt to their surroundings and blood pressure is not an exception.

Several of my clients, however, commented that they used an ambulatory blood pressure cuff (these can be purchased at any pharmacy) and recorded the time of day and outside temperature. During summer months the daytime readings did in fact go down.

Upon closer scrutiny, though, I found that most of my clients doing this were also much more active during the summer daylight hours. I won't name names but many of these same clients also told me they simply stopped taking their blood pressure medicine when their numbers started to go down.

You all know that I do not believe in taking medicine to control a health issue when a natural cure can be found. That said, I DO NOT believe in simply stopping any prescription medicine without first discussing it with one's doctor.

These medicines are potent and have serious side effects when taken as instructed. Altering dosage or stopping all at once can have devastating effects. If you truly want to get off the medicine, discuss weaning yourself off the medicine with your doctor first.

Don't be amazed if your doctor is against doing this. Remember, there was a reason your doctor prescribed the drugs in the first place. Left untreated, high blood pressure can damage all of the major organs, eyes and other tissues, which can in turn lead to stroke, heart attack, blindness and other ill health effects.

If you are looking for a alternative solution to your hypertension, I highly recommend my High Blood Pressure program. It's all natural and easy to follow. Once your high blood pressure lowers, you can bring this evidence to your doctor and he/she will have to acknowledge that a natural solution exists!

Is High Blood Pressure Modern Days Biggest Health Risk?

By Chrisitan Goodman

An increasing number of people have been suffering the effects of hypertension in the last thirty years.

Since our genes have not changed all that much in the past one hundred years or so, it cannot be the reason for the rise in issues relating to high blood pressure.

Another culprit being blamed for the rise in hypertension is our change in diet. Unfortunately, this is not the entire reason either.

Fifty to one hundred years ago, many people were eating a lot more fatty food, and there were not nearly this many issues relating to hypertension.

If the explanation given by doctors and the medical community is not the real reason, what could be causing the rise in hypertension?

Given that genes and diet may have an effect on the number hypertension cases today, and the alarming growth over the part thirty years, it is not the root cause of it, and not many people are aware of this.

The stressful life that we live actually has a surprisingly powerful impact on our bodies and our health, and leading a stressful life can cause hypertension in many people.

Because of this, over the last decade, the number of people with hypertension has increased significantly.

Attributing this sudden boom in the disease to diet, genes and other less effective causes will not allow us to overcome a condition that can be treated and cured with the right treatment program.

The stressful lives that we are leading can have an important effect on our health which we are only beginning to understand.

Before, it was thought that stress was solely an emotional and mental issue. Now, it is obvious that stress can have a significant impact on the physical body, causing diseases like hypertension, ulcers, stomach problems and others.

Curing these ailments will not have anything to do with pills or doctors visits, but instead will rely heavily upon combating stress.

The fact that "conventional" treatments are not working is what makes hypertension such a prevalent issue in today's medical community. People with hypertension are still afflicted with the condition, desperately seeking for answers and cures that the medical community cannot offer them.

Now, a completely rare program for battling hypertension that is based on the actual, most prevalent cause for hypertension is here.

The truth about hypertension, what causes it, and why it has become a common condition, and what it really takes to repair the damage done by stress will be revealed in this unique high blood pressure program that I have come up with. - 31820

Dr Atkins Diet Products

By Joy Mitchell

Following a diet is never easy, especially when you are just starting, but to tell the truth just because you're going to do the Atkins Diet, it doesn't mean to say that it will get any easier either. Sure, you can eat almost unlimited quantity of high fat and high protein food, but you're still on a diet and you still have to to limit your food intake.

For a start, you will need to limit your carb intake especially in the initial phase of your diet, and although you are allowed to increase that incrementally later on, you might still be missing your carbs and might still be prone to these cravings. And that's where some of the Atkins products can come to your assistance.

Having tasted some of these Atkins products myself, I have to say that I consider them to be worth the money. They're by no means cheap but then again, nor are they so expensive that you'll only be able to afford one item and go hungry for the rest of the time, which might, in its own way ensure that you lose weight!

However, you'll be happy to know that there's a range of Atkins products for you to select from which can help satisfy even your worst food cravings and as an added benefit, as I said before, they taste good as well. But if that isn't enough for you, you'll be happy to hear that they can also satisfy your sugar cravings as well as being good for you and filling you up!

So, what Atkins products can you get? Well, they cover a wide range of food, so it really depends on what stage of the diet you're on and what you crave. If it's breakfast bars, you've got the 'Morning Start Breakfast Bars' which are high in protein and fiber and also have the right amount of calcium you'll need as well. Then you'll come across my own personal favourite, the 'Peanut Butter Granola Bar', made with crunchy wholesomeness and peanut butter.

Then again if you really crave something from your diet, you could always try one of the Atkins products which feature different flavours, say the milk shakes. For example, if you miss peaches, you could try an Atkins Peach Milk Shake. Seriously, where would you be without your milk shakes? Probably the same place you'd be without your Chocolate Peanut Butter bars.

Have I told you enough to whet your appetite? Now, do you reckon that can stick to your diet with some of these Atkins products sitting on your shelves with only a minimum of groaning?

So, what are you waiting for? Go and get your Atkins products now. There's only so much will power a person has and the better prepared you are the easier it will be to stick to your diet and the quicker you can lose that unwanted weight. - 31820
